Our 13+ Psychiatry Clinic
Our Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic
Navigating mental health care for a young person can feel overwhelming. If you have landed on this page, you are most likely a parent or carer trying to find the right support for your child - and we want you to know you are in the right place.
At Marpe Wellbeing, we understand that accessing timely mental health support for young people can be challenging. Our adolescent psychiatry clinic is here to help fill those gaps, providing expert private assessments and ongoing care for young people aged 13-17. We also help families navigate the wider NHS landscape, working alongside your young person's NHS GP and other involved professionals to ensure their care is joined-up and consistent.
Our Psychiatry Clinic usually runs on a Wednesday afternoon - led by Dr M Haridas (Children and Adolescent Psychiatrist)
Our Approach
Our consultant psychiatrists are experienced in assessing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions in young people.
Every young person is approached holistically and with an evidence-based framework, recognising that adolescent mental health is complex and that no two young people are the same.
We maintain open lines of communication with your young person's NHS GP, keeping them informed of assessments, progress and any management plans - supporting safe, continuous care throughout.
Continuity
We understand that the NHS CAMHS pathway can be lengthy and difficult to navigate. At Marpe, we are not here to replace NHS care - we are here to complement it. Whether you are waiting for an NHS assessment, have been recently discharged, or simply need timely specialist input, we can help.
We aim to work alongside NHS services and your young person's GP to ensure that private care and NHS care work together in your young person's best interests.
What to Expect
Our adolescent pathway follows a similar process to our adult psychiatry service, with one important addition — where possible, we ask for questionnaires to be completed by your young person's teacher or tutor. This provides valuable context and helps our clinicians build a thorough and accurate picture of how your young person is doing across different environments.
Please note: A parent or legal guardian must provide consent and be present for the start for all appointments for young people under the age of 18. We ask for your consent to share information with your young person's GP and relevant professionals involved in their care.
