  • Salary : Negotiable, depending on experience
  • Hours: Between 9AM-5PM:  10–20 hrs/week
  • Contract: Fixed term/ Permanent, on payroll
  • Responsible to: Clinical Lead / GP Principal

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Psychology Associate / Clinical Assistant to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our clinical operations. You will work closely with our clinicians and patients to ensure patients receive safe, coordinated, and high-quality care across all of our service lines. You will also play an active role in the operational and quality improvement work that underpins everything we do.


Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Health Promotion

  • Support patient health and wellbeing, ensuring individualised care plans are implemented effectively and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patient files and clinical documentation prior to appointments, ensuring clinicians have all relevant information to hand.
  • Coordinate and monitor patient follow-up, including correspondence, outstanding investigations, and onward referrals.
  • Liaise with GPs, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals involved in a patient’s care to ensure continuity and joined-up care.


Clinical Documentation & Correspondence

  • Summarise clinical consultations and assist in drafting and formatting clinic letters for clinician review and sign-off.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on our clinical system.
  • Support the preparation of reports, referral letters, and other clinical correspondence as directed.


Ward Rounds & Clinical Governance

  • Participate in and, in time, lead structured ward rounds using the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) framework.
  • Contribute to clinical audit activity, quality improvement projects, and compliance monitoring.
  • Support the clinic’s ongoing adherence to CQC standards, data protection requirements (DSPT), and internal governance processes.


Leadership & Education

  • Facilitate and assist in the activities of placement students and interns within the clinic, providing supervision and structured support.
  • Contribute to the learning environment of the clinic, sharing knowledge and supporting the professional development of junior team members.


Operational & Administrative Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for patient queries, handling calls and messages professionally and with empathy.
  • Liaise between patients and clinicians to facilitate smooth communication and appointment coordination.
  • Manage and maintain clinician calendars, ensuring efficient scheduling and diary management.
  • Support clinic expansion activities, including recruitment administration and onboarding processes, as directed by the Clinical Lead.


Person Specification

Essential

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Mental Health, Health Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and professional clinical correspondence.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote working environment.
  • Compassionate, patient-centred approach aligned with Marpe Wellbeing’s values of Love, Holism, and Excellence.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and willingness to learn clinic-specific systems 
  • High level of discretion and understanding of patient confidentiality.


Desirable

  • Experience in a clinical or mental health setting (paid or voluntary).
  • Familiarity with ADHD, psychiatry, or private healthcare pathways.
  • Experience using digital  record-keeping systems.
  • Knowledge of CQC standards, GDPR and  Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Experience supervising students or junior staff.
